Crossing Václav Chochola's Path

Crossing Václav Chochola's Path
An exhibition of Václav Chochola's works in the southern gardens of Prague Castle

[en] During my first stay in Prague in 1990, I’ve been introduced to the universe of Jan Saudek through an exhibition, mostly his work on bodies, showing their ambiguities.
This time, that’s another Czech photograph that I met in the southern gardens of Prague Castle, Václav Chochola, poet of the ordinary, of the daily things, and also the portraitist of his friends artists or of famous people like Emil Zátopek and Salvador Dalí.

  1. A great composition. I especially enjoy the humor of the man sleeping through it all.

  2. I like that sleeping guy in the background. And he looks quite well-dressed which raises the question: what is he doing there? why is he sleeping?

  7. Yes, the Czech’s have some great photographers. Very interesting people in your photo almost like inanimate cut outs placed there as installation art. Interesting to look at and examine...

  11. Essa aí você mandou muito bem! Tá tudo ótimo. A composiçao, o enquadramento.

  13. What an awesome way to publicly display photography--I'd love to see that exhibit. I've noticed that people in the Czech Republic tend to sleep a lot in public...I'll have to ask my wife about that, as she's from there!

    Hilarious background model!
