Terceira etapa da Festa de São Benedito da Serra: A Derrubada do Mastro
O Mastro com a bandeira de São Benedito é estampado com honra na praça da matriz e fica ali exposto ao longo de vários meses, até que as bandas de congo e a communidade realiza a cerimônia ritualística da "derrubada do mastro", ou seja, a retirada do mastro. Essa etapa acontece no final do mês de março ou no mês de abril do ano seguinte ao ano da sua fincada. Esse momento representa o encerramento do ciclo anual da festa que homenageia São Benedito na Serra.
